Our Lake Erie Ohio yellow Perch charters are one of the most productive and very popular fishing trips. Perch fishing is excellent from early April through October on Lake Erie in the Island Triangle. Yellow Perch fishing is fun for everyone, regardless of experience, but can be especially fun for children, family groups, or group outings.

Yellow Perch are native to Lake Erie and are one of the best tasting fresh water fish, with a very mild flavor. The Ohio DNR sets limits each year for this species, with numbers 30 – 40 fish daily bag limits per person per day, these limits are established based on creel studies (populations) and the most recent hatch studies.

Lake Erie Ohio Perch fishing is from August through October, (this time frame is some of the best perch fishing on the Lake) each year large schools of hungry perch are constantly on the move in search for food prior to spawn. It is very common to take large numbers or a limit catch in a matter of hours on a good day. These fish are very healthy and run larger during this time frame, yet these fish are overlooked each year by those strictly in search of the earlier walleye bite, ignoring one of the best fisheries available on Lake Erie!

This is also a prime time to consider a combo trip for both walleyes and perch as they are often found in or near the same area as yellow perch are the walleye’s mainstay diet.
